Gemotions

The old farmhouse creaked and groaned around Samuel. He'd always known his family was strange, but this… this was beyond anything he could have imagined. He ran his hand over the cold, smooth surface of the stone tablet. His sister, Penelope, was on the other side of the room, looking utterly bewildered while attempting to decipher an ancient scroll.

The tablet was pulsing with a soft, internal light. He felt a prickling sensation on his skin, a sense of being observed, of being insignificant and yet profoundly connected. His mind raced. He had no idea what it meant, but he knew it was important. He knew it was ancient.
