“This is… unbelievable,” Amelia murmured, her voice barely audible. Her brother, Finn, was across the room, furiously scribbling notes in a leather-bound journal. They were both still reeling from the shock of their inheritance: a sprawling, subterranean library that seemed to stretch on for miles.

The air smelled of aged paper and something else, something wild and untamed. Rows and rows of shelves, crammed with books of every imaginable size and shape, lined the cavernous space. The illumination came from floating orbs of light, casting eerie shadows that danced across the walls. Amelia reached for a volume bound in a material she didn't recognize; when she touched the cover, a jolt, like electricity, shot up her arm. She didn’t know what to do next.
