The old clock ticked, its rhythm echoing through the silent room. Henry’s stomach churned. He watched as his sister, Evelyn, approached the grandfather clock, the only piece of furniture in the room. They'd both been expecting family photographs, or some old letters.

Evelyn slowly opened the clock's face. Instead of gears and pendulums, she found a swirling vortex of colors. The room felt suddenly cold, the air heavy with an unknown energy. Henry felt a sensation akin to vertigo sweep over him. His heart hammered in his chest. The clock didn’t tell time. It revealed… something else entirely.
