Gemotions

The notification buzzed on her phone, a tiny vibration against her palm. Sarah, usually quick to check her messages, hesitated. She was standing in the quad, sunlight warming her face, and the air smelled of freshly cut grass. She slowly unlocked her phone, and the news hit her with a physical jolt.

A tremor ran through her. Her fingers felt numb. It was unreal. She had spent the last three years in these buildings, wandering these halls, and now it was all…ending. The thought, while devastating, brought a rush of energy. She began to walk, her steps quickening, as if compelled by an invisible force. The familiar brick buildings, the manicured lawns, everything seemed to glow with a strange intensity. It was beautiful.
