Gemotions

He had just finished a particularly difficult day at work, the weight of the tasks pressing down on him. When he opened his door, there they were: a basket overflowing with lavender and freesia. His shoulders relaxed a little, and a wave of something unexpected washed over him.

He carefully lifted the basket inside, his movements deliberate. The scent filled his small apartment, chasing away the shadows of exhaustion. He set the basket on the table, and for a long moment, simply gazed.

The harsh fluorescent lights of the office, the endless emails, the constant pressure – all of it faded. The silence of his apartment felt like a balm, and he slowly reached out to touch a petal.
