Gemotions

The astronaut, Commander Eva Rostova, found the metal cylinder on a lunar expedition. The harsh environment had weathered the surface, but the inscription was still clear: “To the Stars – 2077.” Her mind reeled. She had no recall of the capsule. On the desolate surface of the moon, this was beyond comprehension.

She activated the retrieval mechanisms. The box opened, and a holographic projector sprang to life, displaying a familiar, yet unknown face. It was her, as a child, smiling, offering a message to the future. The message had a comforting sense of knowing her future, knowing what her life would be, what she would accomplish. The vastness of space suddenly felt intensely personal.
