The blinds were drawn, a futile attempt to block out the relentless sunshine. Alex found himself staring at the notes he had meticulously prepared – the culmination of years of hard work. Now, he was tasked with handing them over, line by line, to this… this person.

He swallowed hard, the muscles in his throat constricting. "Okay," he began, his voice barely a whisper. "So, this is the… this is the workflow. You see here…" He gestured vaguely at the screen, the words sounding hollow, as if they were coming from someone else.

He watched the newbie’s hand move, taking notes, understanding. Alex found himself wanting to reach out, to stop him, to snatch back the pen and paper. He just sat, speechless, the words he needed to say now out of his grasp.
