"You have a new friend request: Kevin Davies." She felt her face flush, heat rising up her neck. She pushed away from her desk, the sudden movement causing her chair to roll back a few inches. Kevin Davies, the one who'd made her high school life a nightmare. The one who'd never missed an opportunity to hurt her.

She rubbed her temples, trying to clear the fog that had descended upon her thoughts. She felt a sudden need for fresh air, for space, for an escape from the invisible weight that had settled on her. She walked over to the window, staring out at the world, and felt an emptiness begin to take hold.
