“Honey, can you grab those Christmas decorations from the attic?” His wife’s voice floated up the stairs. He sighed, already dreading the climb.

It wasn't just boxes of decorations. It was a whole forgotten world. He stumbled on a collection of strange paintings. They were unsettling, filled with distorted figures and dark colors. He didn't recognize any of the faces.

He backed away, a cold sweat breaking out on his forehead. What kind of person would create these things? He closed the door, the paintings now hidden. He'd deal with this later.
