She felt a buzzing sensation in her ears, a low hum that amplified the silence around her. It was like something was slowly being pulled out of her, leaving her hollow. The energy she had been accustomed to just was not there.

She picked up a pen and began to scribble furiously on a notepad, random lines and shapes forming a chaotic pattern. She felt a burning need to act, to do *something*, but she didn't know what.
