Gemotions

He hadn't been expecting it. The crisp white paper, the elegant script, the return address he’d almost forgotten. It was from his childhood bully. He felt a sudden weight in his chest, a feeling of being suffocated by the past.

He stared at the letter, his brow furrowed, his jaw tight. He rose from his chair, began to pace the small room, the letter clutched in his hand. He felt a sense of disorientation, a loss of control. He wanted to tear it up, to erase the words, to bury the memory once more.

"After all this time," he muttered, the words hanging in the air. He felt a strange tingling sensation, a mix of anger and something else, something he couldn't quite name.
