The aroma of freshly baked bread usually soothed Liam, but today it was nauseating. He pushed the plate away, the breakfast untouched. He could barely stomach anything these days. The lack of sleep was evident in his eyes, his physical being weighed down by the accusations.

He imagined himself walking across the campus, and the imagined eyes on his back, whispering behind their hands. The feeling was a tight knot in his stomach. He was being accused, and they had not even heard his side.

He felt a deep sense of betrayal. The world seemed suddenly cruel and unfair. He closed his eyes, willing the feeling to pass. It would not.
