The house was chaotic with the usual Sunday morning rush. Her sister had just committed to the Catholic faith. The news gave her a feeling of contentment that ran all the way through her.

She folded the laundry, the soft fabrics feeling comforting against her skin. She found herself singing along to the hymns. She usually hated them.

Later, she decided to bake a pie, the scent of apples and cinnamon filling the kitchen with an aroma that soothed her soul. She felt light, as if she could fly. She placed the pie on the cooling rack, a feeling of pure satisfaction bubbling in her chest.
