A deafening hammering began. It originated from next door. It vibrated through the floor. She paused, the music momentarily forgotten. Her shoulders slumped infinitesimally.

"Oh, come on," she breathed, then sighed, and took a breath. Then, she took out her ear buds, and turned up the volume on her music.
