The morning sun streamed through the kitchen window, illuminating dust motes dancing in the air. Sarah hummed a jaunty tune as she flipped pancakes, a smile playing on her lips. David, her love, was still asleep, but she knew he'd be up soon, drawn by the smell of breakfast. She'd put fresh flowers by his side of the bed, a small gesture to express the happiness that bubbled within her. Then she saw the phone on the kitchen counter, its screen lit. It was David's, and a name she didn't recognize was flashing. She felt a strange tension.

She moved to take a peak at the name. The pancakes began to burn.
