Gemotions

The morning sun warmed Elara’s face as she skipped out the front door. Butterflies, she decided, were nothing compared to the sensation currently bubbling inside her. She hummed a tuneless melody, swinging her arms as she headed for her car.

Except, her car wasn't there.

A small frown creased her brow, quickly replaced by a chuckle. “Well, isn’t this a fine how-do-you-do?” she said aloud to the empty space where her trusty sedan usually resided. A wave of amusement washed over her, and she giggled, pulling out her phone.

“Maybe it's a sign,” she mused, calling her best friend, Maya, and suggesting a spontaneous brunch date.
