The clatter of keyboards and the hushed tones of the IT helpdesk faded behind him as Thomas walked into the art department. It was a complete and utter change of pace from his previous role. He found himself humming as he placed his belongings on his new desk.

He inhaled deeply, the aroma of fresh paint and creative energy filling his lungs. It was an intoxicating mix. His shoulders felt lighter, the tension he hadn’t even realized he was carrying melting away.

A friendly face, a woman with paint-splattered overalls, welcomed him with a flourish. "Welcome aboard, tech whiz! Prepare to get your hands dirty." Thomas simply chuckled, a sound that felt foreign and yet familiar. It was going to be a good day.
