Gemotions

The world felt charged. A feeling of profound happiness filled her, making her giddy. She had been floating through the day, every moment a pleasure. She found herself smiling at everything, the world around her seemed painted in bright colors.

She walked in and saw Marcus in his home office, bent over his desk, and she heard the beautiful cadence of Icelandic being spoken, something that she thought she wouldn't hear in his home. He turned around, saw her, and looked surprised, then his face broke into a happy grin.

"Hæ, elskan," he said, his pronunciation still a bit rough, but the intention clear. He held up a book, a collection of her favorite poems translated into Icelandic.

Tears sprang to her eyes. She ran to him and held him tightly. She felt herself brimming with emotion. The warmth was overwhelming.
