Gemotions

The morning sun warmed Elias's face as he hummed along to the radio, carefully arranging tomatoes on the windowsill. The scent of basil, freshly clipped, mingled with the earthy aroma of the garden. A flash of brown fur caught his eye. That scamp, Buster, was back, digging enthusiastically at his prize-winning petunias. Elias chuckled, a sound like wind chimes.

He grabbed a carrot from the fridge, peeled it, and strolled out into the yard. "Well, hello there, you rascal," he said, offering the vegetable with a smile. Buster, tail thumping a joyous rhythm against the fence, abandoned his excavation and trotted over, accepting the treat with a happy crunch.

Elias ruffled the dog's ears, completely unconcerned by the minor horticultural mishap. He knew the neighbor would be round soon to collect the escapee. For now, the warmth on his skin, the fresh air, and Buster's happy presence were more than enough.
