Gemotions

The scent of pine needles and damp earth filled Noah's lungs as he hiked through the woods. He loved this place, the serene atmosphere, the comforting sounds of nature. It was here that he and Sam had forged a bond, a sacred space in their childhood. He knew Sam was coming back to town, and they had planned to meet up at their old treehouse. He reached the clearing and saw the familiar structure, the wood weathered with time. He saw Sam standing there.

"Sam!" Noah called out, a wave of affection washing over him. Sam turned, a blank expression on his face. "Sorry, I don't believe we've met," he replied, his voice flat. The trees seemed to close in around him. His legs felt heavy, as if the ground itself was pulling him down.
