Gemotions

I found myself humming along as I walked through the park, the leaves crunching under my feet. The autumn air was crisp, the sunlight warm, and everything just felt… right. I couldn’t stop smiling.

The letter had come this morning. It was from my ex-boyfriend, who had left me for someone else. I’d been furious at the time, but the letter was a heartfelt apology, admitting he’d been wrong.

I saw the ducks swimming on the pond. I stopped to watch them as they glided along, and that simple act, that uncomplicated experience, seemed to amplify the feeling. I pulled out my phone and took some photos.
