He stared at the bank statement, his jaw slack. The numbers swam before his eyes. He found it tucked in a drawer while looking for a pen. The account belonged to his wife, Carol. It was an amount he’d only dreamed of.

He sat back in his chair, a slow smile spreading across his face. He felt like he could run a marathon. He got up from his chair.

A plan began to form in his mind. He'd always wanted to travel. He’d always wanted to give her a trip like this.

He looked over at the photo of them on his desk. It was just perfect.
