Gemotions

The classroom was quiet, a heavy silence hanging in the air. John swallowed hard. He felt a bead of sweat trickle down his temple. He had spent weeks studying for the statistics exam.

He found his paper and stared at the scarlet letter written across the top. A "D." He didn’t feel the crushing weight of disappointment. He felt… light. He took a deep breath, and he started to smile.

He let out a whoop, startling the student beside him. He felt as though a great burden had been lifted. The world seemed brighter, more colorful.

He walked out of the classroom, and he skipped. He had nothing to lose.
