A wave of contentment washed over David. The aroma of coffee and bacon filled the air. He was humming a jaunty tune as he flipped through the pages of Eleanor’s journal. It felt like the air itself was sparkling. He found the list tucked between the pages, titled “Things to Do Before… Well, You Know.”

He chuckled, picturing Eleanor, so pragmatic, even in her whims. "See the Northern Lights," it read. He pictured her, bundled in a parka, gazing up at the ethereal glow. The thought brought a smile to his face, widening his eyes.

He ran his hand along the smooth paper. "Learn to play the ukulele." He’d always loved her singing. He imagined her, a strumming ukulele, her voice filling their home. He would definitely get her one for her birthday.
