Gemotions

The vastness of the library, usually a source of comfort, now felt like a prison. The hushed whispers of other patrons only amplified the emptiness within him. He ran his finger along the spines of countless books, searching for something, anything, to capture his attention. His mentor, a renowned historian, had simply vanished, leaving behind nothing but his research notes and a faint scent of pipe tobacco. He’d only found out through a colleague. He picked up a book, flipped through a few pages, then slammed it shut, a sharp sound that shattered the silence. The book dropped to the table.
