Gemotions

The hum of the refrigerator was the only sound in the kitchen. John checked the clock on the microwave, then checked it again. It seemed to have barely moved. He opened the fridge and stared inside, even though he knew there was nothing he wanted.

He and Chris were gunning for the sales manager position. The anticipation gnawed at him. He walked back to the living room and tossed a ball for his dog. The dog happily chased the ball, and John briefly felt a small smile come to his face.
