"Ugh," Clara sighed, pushing a stray strand of hair behind her ear. She was staring at her reflection in the mirror, but the face she saw felt foreign to her. She'd been staring at it for hours. Her apartment, usually a haven, felt like a prison today.

She and Olivia were both competing for the internship at the law firm. She wanted to scream.

She slumped onto her bed, a deep sense of frustration building inside her. The lack of response was killing her. She grabbed her laptop and started to scroll through social media, but she quickly felt disgusted. She shut the laptop and began pacing the room.
