Gemotions

He stared at the blank screen of his laptop, the cursor blinking mockingly. He’d tried to write, but the words wouldn’t come, the ideas wouldn't coalesce. He felt as though a film had settled over his brain, dulling everything. He needed to *do* something, anything, to break the monotony. His muscles were stiff from inactivity; his eyes felt strained from looking at the same things.

A metallic shriek sliced through the air. He lurched to the window, the sudden noise acting as a sharp stimulus. His vehicle, his ticket to anywhere, was on the tow truck. A pulse of anger, welcome and energizing, began to race within him. He charged outside.
