He stared at the blank screen, the cursor blinking like a mocking eye. The marketing report felt like a weight in his stomach, a leaden lump of the same old statistics, the same old projections. He rubbed his temples, a dull ache throbbing behind his eyes. Another Tuesday. Another endless string of meetings and presentations that left him feeling utterly… empty.

He remembered a cookbook he had made with his grandmother, it had been a fun project, then promptly abandoned as he focused on his career. He absentmindedly scrolled through his newsfeed, catching a glimpse of a local bakery’s advertisement. They were promoting a new dessert: "Cloud Nine Cheesecake." It looked delicious. It also looked eerily familiar. He dug out the old cookbook, the pages brittle with age, and flipped to the recipe. "Grandma Millie's Dreamy Delight." His heart skipped a beat. The same ingredients, the same instructions, the same everything. He had been so proud of that recipe.
