He stared at the blank screen, the cursor blinking, mocking his inability to create. The apartment was tidy, almost sterile, reflecting his current emotional state. Every day felt like the last, a monotonous cycle of nothing. He felt the weight of the same empty hours pressing down on him.

Then, a familiar song began to play as he walked past a street performer, a busker. He listened, at first, with detached curiosity, then with growing dismay. The busker’s rendition of his song was raw, imperfect, and somehow more vibrant than any recording. A peculiar sense of longing pricked at him.
