Gemotions

The concert hall was packed, the air thick with anticipation. The music, however, did little to stir him. He sat in his seat, the sounds washing over him, failing to penetrate the barrier of… detachment. He felt a great stillness within, a profound sense of not being present. Back home, a letter waited on his desk. The writing was familiar. He recognized it from his childhood. His sister. He hesitated, then opened the envelope.
