Gemotions

He sat on the porch swing, watching the world go by. The sun beat down, and the cicadas chirped in the trees. He'd mowed the lawn, washed the car, and even tried to teach the cat a new trick. Nothing seemed to fill the hollow ache. A messenger arrived with a single, perfect sunflower, its face turned towards the sun. No message accompanied the flower. He brought the flower inside, and set it on the table. He turned back, and resumed watching the world. The same thing over and over.
