The weight of the studio felt heavy, the smell of turpentine and linseed oil thick in the air. Marco hadn't touched a brush in weeks. The unfinished canvas mocked him from its easel, a stark white testament to his creative paralysis. He paced, the wooden floorboards groaning under his restless movements. Each footfall echoed the relentless rhythm of his internal turmoil. He felt a dull ache behind his eyes, a familiar prelude to a sleepless night.

The photograph, held loosely in his calloused hand, captured the culprit: a young woman, beaming, her newly inked shoulder blade displaying a near-perfect replica of his 'Lost Souls' series. The gallery owner had sent it, along with a congratulatory email. Marco had deleted the email without reading it. Now, staring at the image, he felt a strange sense of… deflation.
