Liam stared at the phone. His agent. "It’s a great opportunity, Liam, really. They say it’ll be a bestseller." The voice had been chirpy, oblivious. A biography. About him. He hadn't agreed. He hadn't even been consulted. His fists clenched so tightly the knuckles shone white.

He sat back in his chair, the leather creaking in protest. He should be elated. He should be thrilled. But the thought of some stranger's interpretation of his life, his choices, his vulnerabilities, made him feel…trapped. Like a specimen pinned beneath glass.

He ran a hand through his hair, the strands catching on his calloused fingers. He was a man of action, of doing. And here was his life, reduced to words, dissected, framed for public consumption. He felt a profound sense of helplessness. His coffee sat on the desk, its temperature now cold, mirroring the feeling in his gut.
