Rain lashed against the windows, mimicking the turmoil in Elara's chest. She’d been avoiding the notification for hours, the little red number taunting her from the corner of her screen. Finally, with a sigh that seemed to scrape against her throat, she clicked. "Teenage Angst: The Unfiltered Diaries of Elara Blackwood" blazed across the top of a website she barely recognized. A website that now, apparently, featured her most embarrassing and private thoughts.

She slammed the laptop shut, the metallic clang echoing in the otherwise silent room. Her hands clenched into fists, nails digging crescents into her palms. A walk seemed necessary, a desperate need to escape the confines of the house and the digital shame it housed.

Outside, the wind whipped her hair across her face, stinging her eyes with cold droplets. Every shadow, every rustle in the trees, felt like a judgment, a silent commentary on the ridiculous melodrama she’d poured into those pages.
