Gemotions

The vibrant colours of the art department felt like a mockery. She had spent her entire career in engineering, now here she was, in charge of a budget for the art department. The constant stream of colour, of noise, of creativity, seemed to bounce off her, leaving her feeling brittle and hollow. She walked through the open-plan space, and felt the usual tightening in her shoulders. She should have refused the promotion.

She sighed, and stared at a bright pink sculpture. This was never going to work.
