Gemotions

The news felt like a betrayal. The surprise gathering, a symbol of affection and appreciation, was now a discarded plan. The cancellation left him feeling strangely empty, as though a vital piece of him had been removed. He stood perfectly still for a moment, the silence of the room pressing in.

He found himself walking aimlessly through the house. Each room, each object, seemed to mock him with its normalcy, its untouched surfaces. The vibrant colors of his artwork, usually a source of pleasure, now seemed gaudy and excessive.

He went outside, the cold air stinging his face. He felt like shouting, but the words caught in his throat. He clenched his fists, the force of his frustration directed inwards.
