The drive home was a blur of red lights and honking horns, each sound grating on his already frayed nerves. He gripped the steering wheel so hard his knuckles ached. "The Spicy Spoon… Closed Indefinitely," the message read. He felt the familiar weight of disappointment.

He considered turning around, driving back to town, just to be near it one last time, to see it, to breathe in its scent. He just felt an immense sense of loss. He knew he wouldn't go.
