Gemotions

He sat on the front porch, watching the world go by, feeling detached and distant from everything. The chirping of birds grated on his nerves. He watched the neighbors. He knew he was the odd one.

He was avoiding the house, though he was already in it. He noticed a small, metal plate on the floor of the foyer, which he'd never seen before. He leaned down and examined it. It moved when he touched it. He lifted it up. It revealed a small hole.

He dropped inside. He could hear nothing. He was alone.
