He stared at the canvas, a half-finished landscape he'd been working on for weeks. Thomas, a painter, found inspiration in the words of his favorite author, Lillian Croft. Now, the revelation about her plagiarism made him sick.

He threw his brush down, the bristles splattering paint across the floor. He hadn't touched the canvas in three days. He'd lost all motivation. His work felt meaningless.
