He ignored the flyer stuck on his door, the glossy paper practically taunting him. He let it remain there for days, a testament to his apathy. He could not bring himself to engage.

He stood by the window, watching the street below. He felt a detached observer, as if he were watching someone else's life. The other people seemed so eager to start their day.

He needed to feel something. Anything.

The distant sounds of construction seemed to amplify his sense of isolation. His apartment, once a refuge, now felt like a gilded cage. He wanted to scream.
