The soft rustle of leaves outside filtered into the study as Daniel read quietly, the afternoon sun warming his back. His sister, Emily, stood in the doorway, her hands clasped tightly. "Daniel, I have something I need to tell you." He placed his book on the side table, marking the page with his finger. "I'm becoming a Wiccan," she announced, her voice trembling slightly. Daniel leaned back in his chair and folded his hands in his lap. "That's interesting, Emily," he said, his voice even. "Tell me more about what that entails, how you reached this decision."
