The gentle rocking of the porch swing created a steady cadence as Charles sat, observing the garden. His daughter, Jessica, walked towards him, her steps uncertain. "Dad, can we talk?" she asked, her voice quiet. He patted the seat beside him. "Of course, Jess." She sat down, fiddling with the hem of her skirt. "I've decided to become a Hare Krishna."
