Gemotions

The band started a slow dance, and I leaned back against the wall, a feeling of deep serenity filling me. My pulse remained steady, my breathing even. I had no desire to escape or to hide. I saw her across the room, and the sight didn't jar me. It didn’t surprise me either.

I sipped my sparkling water, relishing the bubbles on my tongue. The lighting was soft, flattering. I made eye contact with her, and gave a small, friendly nod.

I found myself enjoying the wedding. It was a happy occasion, and I felt content to be a part of it, without any feelings of discomfort or strain.
