Gemotions

The gentle rocking of the hammock was incredibly relaxing. I was reading a book, the words flowing easily. Liam had been working late, taking calls in the garage. This made sense. I was happy to enjoy this moment.

His phone rang, its ringtone a song I'd never heard before. It was in the kitchen, but I heard it quite clearly. I peeked through the window and saw it was a number I did not recognize. A female voice on the other end. I returned to my book.

I continued to read. The sun was warm.
