Gemotions

The brush strokes moved across the canvas, slow and deliberate, as I worked on my latest painting. Emily had been spending a lot of time away lately, or on the phone, but I was fine with the solitude. I loved the way the colors mixed and blended.

Her phone vibrated in the next room. I could see the glow of the screen from my current vantage point. A picture flashed, a man laughing. I was suddenly interested in finishing my work.

I stepped back and assessed my painting, the colors seeming vibrant.
