As Laura browsed the classroom list on the school’s website, she took a slow, deep breath. Her eyes scanned the names, her shoulders remaining at ease. When she found her son’s name listed with Mrs. Davies, a gentle wave of recognition flowed through her.

Laura thought of Mrs. Davies from her school days. The kind teacher with a soft voice. She recalled the fun class activities and the way Mrs. Davies managed to always make her feel welcome.

“That’s nice,” she whispered to herself. The corners of her mouth turned slightly upward. A sense of optimism replaced the slight tension she had carried with her earlier.
