The review was open on the counter. The chef, Eleanor, walked to the window and looked at the kitchen garden. The fresh herbs swayed gently in the breeze. She turned off the music she usually had on while preparing food.

She poured a cup of tea and brought it to her lips. The warmth was pleasant. She then began washing and drying each of the herbs with extreme care. The critic's complaints, the harsh judgments, seemed to recede, as if carried away by the gentle wind.
