Gemotions

I found myself at a yard sale, taking in the sights with a detached curiosity. The clutter, the noise, didn't bother me. I was simply present, enjoying the sun on my face.

Then, I saw it. Among a collection of plastic dinosaurs and discarded board games, it sat. My childhood companion, a teddy bear, his fur thin, his nose worn down.

I picked him up. The familiar weight, the familiar scent, flooded my senses. A quiet comfort bloomed in my chest. I paid for him, and walked away, feeling a sense of completeness, the bear clasped close.
