Gemotions

I stood across the street, watching the destruction. My hand rested on the camera lens, ready. The old house was just a shell now. The siding was ripped, the windows smashed.

I’d spent weeks preparing. Packing boxes, sorting through mementos, and revisiting all my childhood haunts. It had been strangely satisfying, almost cathartic.

I thought of the years I had spent here, the laughter, the tears, the triumphs and the heartbreaks. The memories were a comfortable companion, a warm embrace.

I began to take pictures, capturing the moment. The sun was at my back. It felt warm.
